Madame Tussauds Tokyo official tickets: review and buying advice

The one rule that matters: buy by the day before. The official site sells adult tickets at ¥2,100 in advance against ¥2,600 on the day, and Klook is worth it mainly when you bundle Madame Tussauds with other Odaiba attractions.

The DECKS Tokyo Beach shopping complex in Odaiba, where Madame Tussauds Tokyo is on Island Mall 3F

Madame Tussauds Tokyo has the simplest official ticketing of any paid attraction in DECKS Tokyo Beach: one price if you plan ahead, a higher one if you don’t. We earn a commission on Klook bookings made through this page. The rest of this review is about the few cases where that simple answer changes. For the figures, zones and how long to allow, see our Madame Tussauds guide.

Who runs it

Madame Tussauds Tokyo is run by Merlin Entertainments. It opened on 15 March 2013 on the third floor of DECKS Tokyo Beach, in the Island Mall, two minutes’ walk from Odaiba-kaihinkoen station and five from Tokyo Teleport. Merlin has been a private company since 2019.

Until early 2026 its neighbour on the same floor, LEGOLAND Discovery Center Tokyo, was also a Merlin attraction. Since 28 February 2026 LEGOLAND has been operated by the LEGO Group. The two are still side by side, but they are now separate businesses, which matters if you are looking for a joint ticket (more on that below).

The ¥500 rule

The official site advertises date-specified tickets at up to ¥500 off when you buy by the day before your visit. On the official ticket page the adult price (junior high school age and up) is ¥2,100 in advance and ¥2,600 on the same day.

That is the whole trick. If you know which day you will be in Odaiba, book the evening before from your hotel. A family of four adults saves ¥2,000 without doing anything clever.

Other official prices:

GuestOfficial price
Adult (junior high and up), web advance¥2,100
Adult, same day¥2,600
Under 2Free
Guest with a disability, adult¥1,500
Guest with a disability, child¥1,000
One carerFree

The official ticket page does not show a standard child price. Third-party Japanese sites quote one, but we could not confirm it on the official site, so check the price when you book.

No cash at the counter

Payment on site is by card or e-money only. DECKS lists this for the venue. If you are travelling on cash, this alone is a reason to buy online, from either channel.

Where Klook wins

Klook makes the most sense when Madame Tussauds is one stop of several:

  • Klook Pass Tokyo can include Madame Tussauds, LEGOLAND, Joypolis and the Unko Museum in one multi-attraction bundle. Klook’s own marketing claims savings of up to 62%; we have not checked that figure, so do the sum for your actual plan.
  • One app. If the rest of your Odaiba day is already on Klook, keeping this ticket there is tidy.
  • Price for your date. Compare the Klook card with the ¥2,100 advance price. If Klook is lower, take it. If it is about the same, the official ticket keeps you dealing directly with the venue.

Prices in US dollars as listed by the partner when we last checked; the price shown at checkout is the one that counts.

The Odaiba Tour Pass (sold on Klook as the Special Tour Pass in Odaiba) included Madame Tussauds. The edition we checked was valid from 1 April to 30 September 2026; it is sold in seasonal editions, so check whether your dates are bookable before relying on it. Our Odaiba pass guide has the details.

The LEGOLAND combo question

Madame Tussauds and LEGOLAND share a floor, and many families want both. The official combo page returned an error when we checked. Headout and KKday sell a combined ticket, and it is reported that both visits must be on the same day. Since LEGOLAND now belongs to a different company, we would not assume that combo will stay on sale.

There is also a LEGOLAND-specific catch. Its official FAQ says tickets bought from third parties are “unreserved”, with no guaranteed entry time. Our LEGOLAND official review explains when that matters. In short: on a weekend, book LEGOLAND officially and Madame Tussauds officially or on Klook, as two separate tickets.

Good and less good

Good

  • Clear, fixed official prices with a real advance discount.
  • Japanese stars such as Masaki Suda and YOSHIKI alongside international names such as Brad Pitt and George Clooney.
  • Easy to combine: Joypolis, LEGOLAND and the Trick Art Museum are in the same building.
  • VR experiences are part of the visit, including “Thrill Coaster” and “Shark Dive”.

Less good

  • The same-day price is ¥500 higher, which punishes spontaneous visits.
  • No cash on site.
  • Hours are short and vary: the official site showed 11:00–18:00 with last entry at 17:30 on our check date, while DECKS listed 10:00–18:00. Check the day you plan to go.
  • No official child price on the ticket page, which makes family budgeting harder.

Verdict

Buy on the official site by the day before if Madame Tussauds is your only paid stop, or if you want to deal directly with the venue. Buy on Klook when it is part of a pass or when the Klook price for your date beats ¥2,100. Don’t turn up and pay at the counter unless you have decided on the day; it is the most expensive way in, and it only takes card or e-money.

Questions visitors ask

Can I pay cash at Madame Tussauds Tokyo?

No. Payment on site is by card or e-money only. Book online if you only carry cash.

Who owns Madame Tussauds Tokyo?

It is run by Merlin Entertainments. It opened in Odaiba on 15 March 2013.

Is there a LEGOLAND and Madame Tussauds combo ticket?
