Madame Tussauds Tokyo: what's inside and how to buy tickets

Tokyo's wax museum sits on DECKS Island Mall 3F, next to LEGOLAND. Buy at least a day ahead, bring a card (no cash on site), and come for the Japanese stars.

Madame Tussauds Tokyo opened on 15 March 2013 in DECKS Tokyo Beach and is still open. If you searched for “madame tussauds odaiba” or “odaiba wax museum”, this is it: Island Mall 3F, a few doors from LEGOLAND Discovery Center.

The reason to go here rather than to the branch in your home country is the Japanese line-up. The international names are the same ones you know. The Japanese stars are not.

What is inside

The mall’s floor guide says there are over 60 life-size figures. The museum does not publish its own count, so treat that as approximate.

The figures are grouped into zones:

  • Fashion
  • Film
  • A-List Party
  • Music
  • Sports
  • Red Carpet
  • World Leaders

Figures the museum itself names include:

  • Masaki Suda (菅田将暉), the actor and singer. His figure was restyled on 21 February 2025.
  • YOSHIKI of X JAPAN, in the Music zone.
  • Brad Pitt and George Clooney on the international side.

The line-up changes over time, and figures get moved or restyled. If one particular star is the reason for your visit, check the “Our stars” pages on the official site before you book.

There are also VR experiences, listed as “Thrill Coaster” and “Shark Dive”. Check on the day whether they are running.

Photos are the point of a Tussauds visit: you pose next to the figures and take pictures.

Tickets and prices

Madame Tussauds Tokyo prices its tickets to reward planning. The official site advertises date-specified tickets up to ¥500 off when you buy by the day before your visit.

Adults (junior high school and up) pay ¥2,100 when they book on the web in advance and ¥2,600 on the day. Other official prices:

TicketPrice
Under 2Free
Disability, adult¥1,500
Disability, child¥1,000
One carerFree

We could not confirm a child price on the official ticket page, so check it when you book.

No cash. On site, the museum takes cards and some types of e-money only. Travellers who carry mostly yen notes should book online.

Klook sells a date-based Madame Tussauds ticket. Compare the price on the card below with the official advance price for your date.

Prices in US dollars as listed by the partner when we last checked; the price shown at checkout is the one that counts.

How long you need

It is a compact walk-through. On the check date the official hours were 11:00–18:00 with last entry at 17:30, while the mall lists 10:00–18:00, so hours vary by day. Check the official site for your date, and don’t arrive in the last half hour.

In practice it is one block of an afternoon at DECKS, not a whole day. That makes it easy to pair with something else in the same mall.

Combine it with LEGOLAND or Joypolis

Madame Tussauds and LEGOLAND Discovery Center are on the same floor of the same building. Some sellers, including Headout and KKday, sell a LEGOLAND + Madame Tussauds combo; both visits reportedly have to be on the same day. We could not find an official combo page.

One warning about that combo: LEGOLAND only admits adults who bring a child aged 15 or under. Adults travelling without children should skip any combo that includes it. Pair Tussauds with Joypolis or the Trick Art Museum instead. Both are in DECKS, and both work for adults.

Klook Pass Greater Tokyo is the other way to bundle. Its options include Madame Tussauds, LEGOLAND, Joypolis and the Unko Museum, so you can choose the mix that fits your group.

Madame Tussauds is also one of the facilities in the Odaiba Tour Pass. The edition we checked was valid from 1 April to 30 September 2026. It is sold in seasonal editions, so check whether your dates are bookable; our Odaiba Tour Pass guide explains how it works.

How it compares with the other DECKS attractions

Here is how Tussauds compares with three other paid attractions a few minutes away in DECKS, at official adult prices:

AttractionFloorAdult priceRules to know
Madame TussaudsIsland Mall 3F¥2,100 advance / ¥2,600 on the daycard or e-money only
Trick Art MuseumSeaside Mall 4F¥1,200no food or drink
Daiba Haunted SchoolSeaside Mall 4F¥900cash only at the door, consent form
Joypolis3F–5F¥1,700 entry / ¥6,000 Passportheight rules per ride

Tussauds and Trick Art are both photo-led, so pick one if time is short. Trick Art is cheaper and better for children who like to act out a scene; Tussauds is better for anyone who knows the faces.

Before you go

  • Buy by the day before. The official date-specified ticket is up to ¥500 cheaper than buying on the day.
  • Bring a card. No cash on site.
  • Check the hours for your date. The official site and the mall have listed different opening times, and last entry is half an hour before closing.
  • Check the figure you want. If you are coming for Masaki Suda or YOSHIKI, confirm on the official “Our stars” pages that the figure is still on display.
  • Visitors with a disability: adults pay ¥1,500 and children ¥1,000, and one carer goes free.

Who it suits

  • Fans of Japanese film, TV and music: the main reason to come.
  • Rainy days: it is indoors, inside a mall, with the rest of DECKS around it.
  • Mixed-age groups: it works for adults and children alike, and under-2s are free.

Skip it if you have already visited a Tussauds elsewhere and don’t follow Japanese celebrities. The international half will feel familiar. In that case teamLab Planets or Small Worlds will give you more that is specific to Tokyo. Our Odaiba museums guide compares them all.

Getting there

  • Yurikamome: Odaiba-kaihinkoen Station, 2 minutes on foot.
  • Rinkai Line: Tokyo Teleport Station, 5 minutes on foot.
  • Inside DECKS, go to the Island Mall and up to 3F.
