Day plan · Toyosu to Odaiba by Yurikamome

Odaiba in one day: a timed itinerary

Start at teamLab Planets when it opens at 8:00, ride the Yurikamome to Odaiba for DECKS and lunch, see the Gundam Base in DiverCity in the afternoon, and end at the beach for the fountain show and the lit-up Rainbow Bridge.

Odaiba waterfront at night with lit buildings and Rainbow Bridge

This plan works because of one line: the Yurikamome runs from Shimbashi over Rainbow Bridge, through every Odaiba station, and on to Shin-Toyosu, one minute from teamLab Planets. You go out to the far end first, then work back towards the city, so you never double back.

Buy a Yurikamome one-day pass (¥820) at the start. With this route you will ride it at least three times. The Tokyo Subway Ticket does not cover the Yurikamome; see getting there for the details.

8:00 · teamLab Planets, Toyosu

teamLab Planets opens at 8:00 and is quietest in the first slots of the day. Take the Yurikamome to Shin-Toyosu (north exit, one minute’s walk). The venue is in Toyosu, not on Odaiba island. If you searched for “teamlab odaiba”, this is the one people mean now, because the old Odaiba teamLab Borderless closed in 2022 and moved to Azabudai Hills.

What to know before you go:

  • You walk barefoot, and in some rooms the water can rise to knee height, even for adults. Wear shorts or trousers that roll up easily, or borrow the free rental shorts.
  • Lockers are free and are just after the gate.
  • Tickets are for a set entry time, with no refunds. The official store (run by DMM) lets you change the date up to 2 hours before entry, at most three times. Platform tickets usually do not allow that.
  • Adult prices change by date; the official site showed from ¥4,200 when we checked.
  • Book ahead. Secondary guides report that same-day tickets often sell out at weekends and on holidays, and suggest booking weeks ahead in high season.
  • The venue has irregular closed days, for example Thursday 1 October and Thursday 5 November 2026. Check the calendar.

About 10:30 · Yurikamome to Odaiba

From Shin-Toyosu it is about 16 minutes to Odaiba-kaihinkoen, the stop for DECKS Tokyo Beach. You arrive just as the malls open. DECKS shops open at 11:00, some attractions at 10:00.

11:00 · DECKS Tokyo Beach: pick one attraction

DECKS holds most of Odaiba’s paid attractions under one roof, two minutes from the station. Choose by group rather than trying to do all of them:

Joypolis opens at 10:00 on weekends and holidays and 11:00 on weekdays. LEGOLAND opens at 10:00. Madame Tussauds and the Trick Art Museum open at 11:00.

The Odaiba Tour Pass covers several of these. The edition we checked was valid from 1 April to 30 September 2026. It is sold in seasonal editions, so check whether your dates are bookable; the Odaiba pass page explains it and what to buy instead.

13:00 · Lunch

Stay in DECKS for the Odaiba Takoyaki Museum and the retro Showa-style Daiba 1-chome Shotengai on Seaside Mall 4F. Or walk to Aqua City, opposite Fuji TV, where Tokyo Ramen Kokugikan Mai on 5F has six ramen shops. Restaurants in DECKS and Aqua City open at 11:00.

14:30 · Fuji TV, then the Gundam Base at DiverCity

From Aqua City, the Fuji TV building is right there. The Hachitama sphere on 25F costs ¥800 and gives the view that the closed ferris wheel used to give. It closes on Mondays (Tuesday if Monday is a holiday), and last entry is 17:30.

Then walk to DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, about five minutes from Daiba station. On 7F, the Gundam Base Tokyo is free, with a shop, a paint room and exhibits. On weekends and holidays, entry can be by numbered web ticket, so check the official notice first.

The life-size Unicorn Gundam statue outside is gone. Its display ended on 31 August 2026, and no replacement has been announced. Older guides that plan a day around its transformation shows are out of date.

If you have kids with you, the Unko Museum is on DiverCity 2F.

16:30 · Beach, Statue of Liberty and sunset

Walk back towards Daiba station and down to Odaiba Marine Park. The Statue of Liberty replica (about 11 m) stands by the water with Rainbow Bridge behind it. The beach runs about 800 m. You can paddle at the edge, but swimming is prohibited except on a few event days in July.

The Tokyo Aqua Symphony fountain in the park opened in March 2026 and is free. On the standard schedule it runs ten shows a day: 15:00, 15:45, 16:30, 17:15, 18:00, 18:45, 19:30, 20:15, 21:00 and 21:30, each about ten minutes. The schedule changes with the season and for events, so check it on the day. Catch a show after sunset, when Rainbow Bridge is lit.

Evening · a cruise, or the train home

Three ways to end the day:

  • Cheapest: the Yurikamome from Daiba back over the lit bridge to Shimbashi.
  • On the water, briefly: the Tokyo Cruise water bus from Odaiba Seaside Park pier to Hinode takes about 20 minutes and costs ¥600.
  • A proper dinner: a Symphony sunset or dinner cruise from Hinode Pier, or a yakatabune. See Tokyo Bay cruises.

Variant: rainy day

Swap the outdoor parts for indoor ones. Do teamLab Planets as planned; only the outdoor Moss Garden closes in storms. Then spend most of the day inside DECKS, where you can go from Joypolis to Trick Art to the Haunted School without going outside. After lunch, go to DiverCity for the Gundam Base and Round1 (bowling, karaoke and arcade on 6F), or to AniTouch on Aqua City 3F for the animals. For something bigger, Small Worlds is three minutes from Ariake-Tennis-no-mori station.

Variant: with kids

Start later and skip teamLab Planets if your children are very small. Then head to LEGOLAND first thing, the Unko Museum after lunch, and AniTouch or the beach later. At Joypolis, children under 110 cm get in free but can’t ride much; several rides need 130 cm. Miraikan, usually a good family stop, is closed for renovation from 1 October 2026 to 22 April 2027 and reopens on 23 April 2027. Full age and height rules are on our Odaiba with kids page.

Variant: budget or free

A good Odaiba day can cost little more than the train:

  • Walk the Rainbow Bridge promenade to Odaiba (free; closed every third Monday).
  • The beach, the Statue of Liberty and the Aqua Symphony fountain are free.
  • The Gundam Base is free, and so are Fuji TV’s 7F rooftop terrace and 1F shops.
  • Hachitama is ¥800, the Trick Art Museum ¥1,200.
  • The Antarctic ship Soya, moored by the former Museum of Maritime Science, is free to board (closed Mondays).

Variant: evening only

Arrive around 15:00. Do one DECKS attraction; Joypolis’s Evening Passport (¥5,000) starts at 15:00 or 16:00 depending on the day. Watch the sunset from the beach and a fountain show after dark, then eat in DECKS or Aqua City, whose restaurants stay open until 23:00. teamLab Planets is open until 22:00, and its Moss Garden glows after sunset, so you can also flip the plan and finish in Toyosu.

Want a guide?

If you’d rather not work out the trains yourself, GetYourGuide sells a guided teamLab Planets and Odaiba Bay tour that combines both halves of this plan.

Prices in US dollars as listed by the partner when we last checked; the price shown at checkout is the one that counts.

Questions visitors ask

Is one day enough for Odaiba?

Yes, for the highlights. With teamLab Planets in the morning, one paid attraction in DECKS, the Gundam Base and the waterfront at dusk, you will use the full day without rushing.

Is teamLab Planets in Odaiba?

No. It is in Toyosu, one minute from Shin-Toyosu station on the same Yurikamome line, about 14 to 16 minutes from Odaiba's main stations. That is why it fits so well at the start of an Odaiba day.

What can you do in Odaiba on a rainy day?

Stay inside DECKS Tokyo Beach: Joypolis, LEGOLAND Discovery Center, Madame Tussauds, the Trick Art Museum and the Haunted School are all in one building. DiverCity and Aqua City are indoor too.

Can you still see the Gundam statue in Odaiba?

No. The life-size Unicorn Gundam statue outside DiverCity ended its display on 31 August 2026. The Gundam Base on DiverCity 7F is still open and free.

What is free to do in Odaiba?

Walking Rainbow Bridge, the beach, the Statue of Liberty replica, the Gundam Base and the Tokyo Aqua Symphony fountain shows are all free.
