LEGOLAND Discovery Center Tokyo: official tickets or Klook?

Buy the official timed ticket for weekends, holidays and school breaks, because the centre's own FAQ says agency tickets are unreserved and entry at a set time is not guaranteed. On a quiet weekday, Klook is a reasonable alternative.

Klook and GetYourGuide both sell LEGOLAND Discovery Center Tokyo tickets, and we earn a commission when you buy through our links. So it matters that we say this clearly: on a busy day, the official ticket is the safer purchase, and the centre says so in writing. This review explains why, and when the agency ticket is still fine. For what is inside and which ages it suits, see our LEGOLAND Discovery Center guide.

Who runs it now

For most of its life the centre was a Merlin Entertainments attraction, like Madame Tussauds on the same floor of DECKS. That changed on 28 February 2026, when the LEGO Group took over operation, according to the centre’s own ticket FAQ. The centre itself has not moved: the entrance is on Island Mall 3F of DECKS Tokyo Beach, two minutes from Odaiba-kaihinkoen station.

The practical effect for you is small but worth knowing. Some agencies still sell a LEGOLAND + Madame Tussauds combo, but the official combo page returned an error when we checked, and the two attractions now belong to different companies. See our Madame Tussauds official review for how to combine them now.

The official ticket menu

Every guest needs a timed slot. Prices on the official site, checked on 28 September 2026:

TicketOfficial priceNotes
Online Saver¥2,350–¥3,300Date and time specific; “save up to 30%”
Weekday after 14:00¥2,240–¥2,800Online, weekdays only
Annual pass¥7,000
Under 3Free

The centre says that booking at least 24 hours ahead gets the best price and guaranteed entry. The door price is not published on the official site, so we cannot tell you exactly how much you save against walking up. The “up to 30%” is the centre’s own figure for peak dates.

The site is in Japanese and English.

“Unreserved”: the word that decides it

Here is the line most agency listings leave out. The official ticket FAQ describes tickets bought from third parties as unreserved. An unreserved ticket gets you in when there is a free slot. It does not guarantee a time. Only the official online ticket guarantees entry at your chosen time when the centre is busy.

On a Tuesday in term time this probably makes no difference. On a Saturday in a rainy week, when every family in Odaiba heads indoors to DECKS, it can mean waiting in the corridor with two restless children while timed-ticket holders go in. Add the fact that weekend and holiday stays may be limited to three hours, and a late start costs you real play time.

Three visits, three answers

Saturday, Sunday, holiday or school break. Buy the official Online Saver at least a day ahead. You pay a known yen price, you get a guaranteed time, and you can plan Joypolis or lunch around it.

A weekday afternoon. Look at the official weekday after-14:00 ticket first; at ¥2,240–¥2,800 it is the cheapest official way in. Then compare the Klook card below. If Klook is cheaper on your date and the centre is unlikely to be full, the unreserved risk is low.

Two adults, no child. Neither channel helps you. Adults must bring at least one child aged 15 or under. The only exception is the centre’s Adult Night events for ages 16 and over; one in November 2024 cost ¥3,500, or ¥5,800 with a workshop. We could not confirm the current schedule, so check the official news page. Otherwise, the Trick Art Museum on Seaside Mall 4F of the same building has no such rule.

Where Klook and GetYourGuide are fine

Agency tickets are not a trap. They are a trade-off:

  • Quiet days. If you are visiting on a weekday outside Japanese school holidays, unreserved entry is rarely a problem.
  • Bundles. Klook Pass Tokyo can include LEGOLAND alongside Joypolis, Madame Tussauds or the Unko Museum. If you are doing three or four of these anyway, the bundle can be worth more than a guaranteed slot at one of them.
  • One app for the whole trip. Some families prefer all vouchers in one place.

GetYourGuide has a LEGOLAND listing too. It carries the same unreserved status as any third-party ticket, so the advice above applies.

Before you pay: small print

  • Adults need a child. This is the rule people most often miss. The child must be 15 or under.
  • Timed slots for everyone, including children.
  • Three-hour limit may apply on weekends and holidays.
  • Maintenance. The centre lists maintenance closures for some attractions between October and December 2026. Check the official page if a particular ride matters to your child.
  • Refunds. The official refund policy was not stated on the pages we could access. Read the terms at checkout before you pay, and do the same on any agency listing.
  • Hours. Weekdays 10:00–18:00, weekends and holidays 10:00–19:00, per the DECKS listing; they vary.

Verdict

The official site is the better channel for most LEGOLAND visits, and the reason is not price. It is the guaranteed entry time, which agency tickets do not have. For weekend, holiday and school-break visits, book direct.

Klook earns its place on quiet weekdays and for families stacking several DECKS attractions into one pass. In that case, arrive early in the day and accept that you may wait for a free slot.
